Our Story

My Dad started out with…

one hundred and sixty acres of mostly Canadian Thistle (a noxious weed) and with 45 years of hard work, has turned that weedy land into a farm with productive fields, an extensive irrigation system, many outbuildings, and a small feedlot we use during the winter to fatten up cows.  I joined him in 2013 to add another head and set of hands to the operation.  My father and I operate the farm along with any help we can drum up from our family and neighbors. 

At KD Farms, we raise and direct market "cleaner" grass-finished beef to health-conscious local customers.  We also hope to expand our direct marketing side and provide more farm-to-table products in the near future.  Our name, "KD Farms" is new to our neighbors, but its been around a while as KD with a quarter circle underneath is our livestock brand, and (conveniently, no?) now our logo.    

KD Farms is nestled in the Flathead Valley in Northwest Montana.  We are a family owned and operated farm that is very diverse in what we raise.   I am a fourth generation farmer in Montana and third generation on our current land base near Kalispell, Montana.
